I'm in Europa and most of the time I do get access to FOW and UW should I want to. But maybe it will be fair if they make some rearrangement to this rule. I still can't see how this idea can be bad so I'll sign (after all there can come time when Europa won't get the favor so often .

I've never been to UW or FoW. That's because I live in America, but most of my playtime occurs between mid-morning and late afternoon. America is FAR from getting favor then. I wish I was good at PvP, but I'm not, so "fighting for it" isn't really much of an option for me. I suppose practice makes perfect. Maybe someday I'll try PvP again, or I'll change my hours, or my region, or something, and finally get to go. Or maybe I shouldn't have to.
Look, I know some people think everyone who wants to go to the elite areas is just an ecto farmer, but that's really not fair, or accurate. It's a shame I can't enjoy the content I paid for is all. I don't think anyone's asking to make these areas any less elite, but there's got to be some qualification other than favor that could be used.

PvE and PvP are separate. A lot of PvP players don't play PvE and visa versa. So telling PvE players to go help earn favor...HUH?

Just such a simple thing as always keep the Grenth statue north of Dreadnaught's Drift activated would help a lot.
Now it makes it possible for everyone (europeans, koreans, etc. and mixed parties) to enter UW, but only when US have favor.
To always keep it open would allow explorer teams to enter it for an occasional treat, but it would probably not be worth it for farmers. I see that as a solution that would allow those "locked outside" UW to get in.
Europe, US and Korea have all in periods had common access to UW/FoW, but how many times have you seen Taiwan and Japan get favor? Can we not be generous to let them at least have one alternative way to visit them?
To keep this statue always open would probably not change much on a bigger scale (like farming, ectoprices etc), but it would allow less favoered regions to enter and actually see UW, and it also allows mixed international parties to go there.

Cloudbunny

Nice idea cloudbunny: alternate access points where you can go regardless of who has favor. Even if they're FAR off the beaten path, I'm sure people would still go just to see them (and if the team wipes, it would require traveling back there from the last outpost? hahahaha, just TRY solo-farming UW when you have to run to the temple in Lornar's or the Falls each time just to get in.)
If they don't remove favor entirely (which is what I hope for) then allowing alternate access is the next best thing.

Yet another thread about this topic was closed today. This debate seems to bring out the worst in people. I'll repost some comments posted previously in varios threads. Please avoid the my region is better than your region comments that lead to thread closure.
The current favor "Reward/Punishment" system is broken and I think most people agree on that. Complaining will not get it fixed but constructive solutions might. Below I have outlined a very simple fix that not only rewards those who have favor but gives those that don't have favor what they deserve as well.
The punishment for not having favor is locked content. Most people in some territories (Japan and Taiwan come to mind) will probably NEVER be able to enjoy this content. This is simply not fair to those people who paid for content they can never play or play once in a blue moon at best.
A solution would be to change the reward for Favor and not punish those that do not have favor. It is a simple two step process.
Step 1: Unlock all the content to remove the punishment.
Step 2: Give a proper reward to the territory that does hold Favor.
As a suggestion:
A JUST REWARD for holding Favor might be an increased rare drops rate in Elite Missions (Or perhaps everywhere) for the territory that has favor. This could replace the double drop weekend events ANET is so fond of now so they can come up with some new weekend events. It still ties the PvP to the PvE in a little way without doing away with Favor all together. It does not ruin the enjoyment of the game for those that do not have favor.
This would solve EVERY complaint raised in this thread about the broken favor system. And it would also eliminate the mass territory migration issues since the major incentive to switch territories has been removed.
I've seen a few other decent proposals on this thread. Please keep the suggestions coming.

I wonder how favor would shake out if when teams from HA ID held, no one had favor.
Anyway, PvE content locked by PvP play is just as silly as if PvP play was limited by PvE.
I do enjoy these threads though, as I like to see that pettiness is a part of the human condition, regardless of nationality.

/signed for idea two
I think Europeans need to sleep more often. The latest I stay up to is midnight, while Europeans at 6:00 AM still have favor. How is that fair? Also, it is way less fair for the Taiwanese, Koreans, and Japanese. They should just be Asia, instead of three different territories. IMO, the restrictions to the god realms are 20x more retarded than the Canthan elite missions.
Note: This is not a bump. It is reviving a good idea!
